Taping your fingers is about prevention or cure?

There are many opinions on whether you should or shouldn’t tape your fingers for jiu jitsu. In fact, one high profile grappler has stated that it was better to not tape your fingers to allows your fingers, finger joints and ligaments to strengthen. He said that you should only tape your fingers if you’re injured to help with recovery. But should the focus really be about recovering from injury rather than preventing injury? We don’t think so – actually, we strongly disagree.
